DETAILED EXAMINATION

Your Chiropractor:

Will then perform a detailed examination of your spine, muscles and nerves to help find the root of your symptoms. We have a high-quality digital X-ray machine in the clinic to take X-rays at your first visit (if necessary).

SECOND VISIT

Report of Findings:

Your chiropractor will report back to you exactly what they have found and explain the cause of your symptoms. They will go through and explain your X-rays and give you a treatment plan of how many sessions it will take to sort out your problem.

TREATMENT STARTS

Your Plan:

We then start your treatment plan.
Chiropractors use their hands to locate and ‘adjust’ the joints so that normal movement and function is restored. The body can then get on with the process of healing.

The clinic can be very busy but if you don’t get through, leave a message and one of our clinic team will phone you back as quickly as possible.

What happens when I first visit the clinic?

The first appointment is 40 minutes. A thorough medical history is taken and a full neurological and orthopaedic examination is performed. Digital X-rays will be taken (if necessary). A Chiropractic evaluation of your spine and joints is also completed.

The second appointment – about 2 days later – is 30 minutes. This is the Report of Findings (ROF), detailing the cause of your problem, explanation of X-rays and the proposed treatment plan. The ROF is included in the cost of your first visit. If you choose to commence treatment at this time, there will be a treatment charge which will be fully explained.

How many treatments am I going to need?

This varies depending on the seriousness of the problem and the length of time you have had it. Every case is carefully assessed and an estimate of the number of treatments will be discussed with you.

Am I too old/young for Chiropractic treatment?

We treat patients of all ages from 0 – 90+.

Are you registered with private health insurance companies?

Yes, we register with all companies excluding Bupa. Please check with your insurer before you make an appointment so that you comply with their requirements. When you have this information please talk to us about our procedures as policies vary widely.

Do you have to be in pain to visit the Chiropractor?

No, pain is not necessary as we are much more interested in the cause of the problem. Restrictions in movement can often be detected before symptoms arise. However, in the real world, it is the symptom of pain which finally forces people to seek Chiropractic help.

How much does it cost?

See our Pricing Section for more information.

Will treatment hurt?

Chiropractic adjustments usually do not hurt, you may feel pressure and hear a click on certain joints, but once the adjustment is performed you should not feel pain. Some post treatment muscle soreness (like a gym ache) is experienced by some patients. In general patients enjoy being adjusted and like the way adjustments feel.
